...to the new look Cre8ive Glass Website.
As the new owners of Cre8ive we would like to welcome
you to the cre8ive world of glass casting, fusing and slumping.
We would like to acknowledge the expertise and experience of the
former owners Bob and Marilyn who have passed onto us their
extensive knowledge in all matters glass! The business is now
located in Kaikohe in the beautiful Bay of Islands, NZ.
Ray Adams is Managing Director of the Company and Matthew
Ayton is our Production Manager.
We have some exciting developments and ideas in the pipeline,
most of which will of course take a little time to implement
and filter through to you our valued clients. It is our vision
to see the products improved in presentation and quality of finish,
particularly the lower priced items. We will progressively update
the photo gallery as new products come on stream and delete items
no longer manufactured to enhance your visit to our website.
All the products on the website are found in retail shops
and Galleries across NZ. We ourselves have opened a Gallery
in Kaikohe (57 Station Rd) in which we can showcase our Glassware
to clients and sell product seconds etc. The Gallery is
open Mon – Fri 10am – 4pm.
Cast and Fused Glass techniques are quite extraordinary and date
back to the ancient artisans of Egypt. Fusing starts with at least
two layers of glass and often involves many more (our Noteweights use
6 layers of glass for instance). Casting starts with the creation of
a master mould from which casting moulds are then fashioned. Each cast
item made requires its own mould. All of our cast items are made from
NZ made 45% Lead Crystal Glass. The kilns are heated to at least 1450
degrees Farenheit at which point in fusing, the pieces become one and
if required slumped into the desired shape. In casting, the glass becomes
molten and pours into the mould.
We are fortunate enough to work with a product we enjoy designing
and cre8ing from start to finish.
